So, you've probably noticed a project of mine titled "The Housevibes."
The Housevibes are a band started by some of the most talented local musicians I know.
I've been working with them for little over a past month now, filming and taking a whole bunch of pictures of their sessions.
It's been a great experience. I've had to learn about the camera on the fly, which meant that my skills have improved dramatically.
The pictures have a very warm feel to them. There's a lot of grain and noise and may not immediately be seen 'aesthetically pleasing.'
Let me explain:
First off, the only bit of lighting inside was a small yellow lamp hanging above the room.
I didn't want to add any light to it because it would make the session less spontaneous and would limit the band members movement around the room.
I only first noticed the warm feel to the pictures as I was looking through the pictures the next morning. I decided that I would go ahead and post them anyway because they really capture the vibe of the place well.
The pictures are raw and vivid and I think they will be able to whip up the emotion of the place really well.
You can find The Housevibes here.
Check out the video I put together here.
Feel free to leave a comment or two, and definitely share this around with others you think might be interested.
Cheers!
